What is Gautam Adani¡¯s salary? Gautam Adani, an Indian business tycoon, celebrates his 62nd birthday today. As India's second richest man, Gautam Adani's rise from humble beginnings to the peak of fortune is truly remarkable. His net worth, estimated at more than Rs 7 lakh crore by Forbes, shows the success of the Adani Group, one of India's largest conglomerates. However, looking at his immense wealth and powerful position, Gautam Adani's salary is surprisingly modest. Let's look into Gautam Adani's salary, net worth, and journey to learn some intriguing facts about this business tycoon.
Gautam Adani is the chairman of the Adani Group, a conglomerate involved in diverse sectors including energy, resources, logistics, agribusiness, real estate, financial services, and defense. His strategic vision and leadership have propelled the group to remarkable heights, making him the second richest man in India with a net worth of over Rs 7 lakh crore.
Despite leading such a vast enterprise, Gautam Adani's salary is relatively modest compared to other industry leaders and even some of his own executives. According to a report by the Economic Times, Gautam Adani earned a total of Rs 9.26 crore in the fiscal year ending March 31. This figure includes his salary from only two of the ten companies under the Adani Group umbrella: Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.

From Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd (APSEZ), he received Rs 6.8 crore, which included Rs 1.8 crore in salary and Rs 5 crore in commission. Notably, he did not receive any commission from AEL, as reported in TOI.

Gautam Adani's salary is lower than many leaders of large family-owned businesses in India. Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man, has not taken any salary since the COVID-19 pandemic began; previously, his salary was capped at Rs 15 crore.
Gautam Adani's younger brother, Rajesh Adani, earned Rs 8.37 crore, including Rs 4.71 crore in commission from AEL. His nephew, Pranav Adani, received Rs 6.46 crore, including Rs 4.5 crore in commission. His son, Karan Adani, earned Rs 3.9 crore from APSEZ. Unlike Gautam Adani, his brother, nephew, and son did not receive salaries from more than one company.
Gautam Adani's salary is significantly lower than that of many leaders of family-owned conglomerates in India. For instance, Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man with a net worth of over Rs 9 lakh crore, has been foregoing his salary since the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this, he had capped his remuneration at Rs 15 crore. This comparison highlights Gautam Adani's unique approach to compensation, prioritizing reinvestment and growth over personal earnings.
