Ticket prices for the Met Gala have been increasing steadily. In the previous year, an official seat cost $50,000 (approximately Rs 41,72,175), but it has now risen to $75,000 (approximately Rs 6,260,250). In 1995, Ms Wintour's first year overseeing the event, a ticket cost just $1,000.
The gala raised about $22m last year, when its theme paid tribute to late design legend Karl Lagerfeld.
