He might be one of the richest people in the world, but veteran investor Warren Buffett has been a firm believer in living a simple lifestyle all throughout his nine-decade journey of life.
The 93-year-old billionaire's?house and salary are two things that justify the same.
In contrast to the hefty salary that most people might assume, billionaire Warren Buffett has actually been earning a much smaller salary at his company Berkshire Hathaway for more than four decades.
As the Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett had been earning just $100,000 salary.?according to the company's regulatory filings. Buffett reportedly earns no other compensation or bonus.?
However, he does own?Berkshire Hathaway Class A stocks, which currently make up $112 billion of his $113 billion net worth (as per Bloomberg billionaire index).
Warren Buffett¡¯s small salary is in line with his views on wealth.
Despite his billions of dollars in fortune, Buffett often says money isn¡¯t the key to happiness and he would be happy with much less.?¡°I¡¯m already happy. I would be happy with, you know ¡ª certainly with $100,000 a year, I could be very happy,¡± says Buffett, as per CNBC.

Besides the same salary for four decades, Warren Buffett also still lives in the same Omaha house he bought in 1958?and says he¡¯s completely content with it.
In 1958, Buffett and his then-wife bought a 6,570-square-foot home with five bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in Omaha. He still lives there.?He purchased the house 65 years ago for $31,500 and doesn¡¯t plan on trading his Omaha home for a more luxurious one any time soon.? ?
¡°I¡¯m happy there. I¡¯d move if I thought I¡¯d be happier someplace else,¡± he had said earlier, adding ¡°This house does just fine. I¡¯m warm in the winter, I¡¯m cool in the summer, it¡¯s convenient for me. I couldn¡¯t imagine having a better house.¡±
He had once mentioned that "the?third best investment I ever made was the purchase of my home.?The?first two best investments were wedding rings."
