Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday of November in the US and on the second Monday of October in Canada every year. Although the festival has historical roots, it is now celebrated as a secular holiday.

On the occasion of Thanksgiving, families get together to prepare a grand feast which usually includes turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberry sauce, corn, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pies.
