Pick a pot with drainage holes. Aloe vera doesn¡¯t like standing water, so proper drainage prevents root rot and keeps the plant healthy.
Use cactus mix or make your own with sand, perlite, and potting soil. Aloe vera needs loose, fast-draining soil to thrive indoors.

Keep your aloe vera near a window that gets bright, indirect sunlight. Too much direct sun can cause the leaves to dry or burn.

Water deeply but only when the soil is fully dry. Overwatering is the biggest mistake¡ªaloe prefers dry conditions over soggy soil.

If leaves grow long or damaged, trim with clean scissors. You can use the cut leaves to extract gel for skincare or burns.

When the plant outgrows its pot or sends up baby shoots, repot it. Use fresh soil and a slightly larger pot to encourage growth.
