You can grow dahlias by saving seeds from last year's plants or buying them at your local nursery.??

Simply plant dahlia seeds directly into a seedling tray filled with starter soil about four to five weeks before the last frost.

Make sure to keep the soil damp and move the tray to a sunny window where the little seeds can soak up some light.?

Once the seeds have sprouted, wait until each baby plant has grown its first set of leaves before transplanting them into separate cells or pots.?

When the outdoor soil warms up to a cozy 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit, it's time to move those little seedlings into the garden bed.

Unlike some other flowers, dahlias aren't thirsty plants. If you're in a place with frequent summer showers, that's usually enough to keep them happy.

In places where it's dry and hot, you might consider mulching to keep moisture in the soil, but we generally don't recommend it to maintain warm soil and prevent leaf drying.

You can pick the blossomed one when they are in full bloom.?
