Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today sent a proposal to the central government seeking permission to impose lockdowns in market areas for fear of COVID-19 hotspots.
Over 29,000 cases were reported in the last 24 hours in India, taking the country¡¯s tally to 88.74 lakh.?
The last time India reported less than 30,000 cases was in mid-July. The drop in cases is mostly due to lesser testing over the weekend.
There are currently over 4.53 lakh active cases, 82.9 lakh recoveries and over 1.3 lakh deaths in the country.?
According to the health ministry, the positivity rate is declining and fatality rate remains one of the lowest in the world.
Globally, over 55.1 million people have been infected by the virus with more than 1.33 million deaths. US continues to be the worst affected country followed by India and Brazil.
