More than 9,000 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded continuously one each of the last five days in India
The total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in India is more than 2,56,000. But 1.24 lakh people have successfully recovered and the death toll is nearly 7,000.
India now is the 5th worst affected country in the world. Maharashtra, which is the worst affected state in the country, has now more cases than China.
Maharashtra?has more than 85,000 COVID-19 cases compared to China¡¯s 84,000 overall.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has self-isolated himself after developing mild fever and sore throat. He will also undergo a COVID-19 test.
Restaurants, malls, religious places opened amid the unabated spread of coronavirus throughout India.

New Zealand is now free of coronavirus. The last known infected person has recovered. Around 1,500 people were infected and 22 had died due to coronavirus there.
Besides New Zealand, eight other smaller nations have successfully managed to stamp out COVID-19.
Globally there are 70 lakh cases with 4 lakh deaths. US continues to be the worst affected country.
