If the reports doing the rounds online are true, Honda Cars India might also start taking bookings for the car on the same day of its unveil. As for what is known about the Indian-spec model, the teaser image shows slight adjustments over the one currently in sale in Thailand.
These changes include dual-tone shades as well as a faux-brushed aluminum trim for a more premium feel on the car. The lighter shades are expected to make way in the top trims of the sedan. The top-spec model, or the City ZX will also come with a sunroof, full-LED headlamps and 16-inch alloy wheels as standard.
The fifth-generation Honda City will be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel or petrol engine. To further improve the efficiency on it, the 1.5-litre petrol unit might also come with the latest mild-hybrid tech similar to the one seen on the recently revealed Jazz.
Once out, the new-generation City will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Yaris and the upcoming next-generation Hyundai Verna as and when it arrives.
