Auto Expo 2020: Hero Electric Showcases AE-47 Electric Motorcycle
Hero Electric showcased its first all- electric motorcycle at the Auto Expo today. Called the AE-47 the motorcycle looks like a premium product with some high-end features. Powering the motorcycle is a 4kW motor that is powered by a 35kWh lithium-ion battery.
One of India¡¯s largest electric two wheeler manufacturer, Hero Electric, showcased its first all-electric motorcycle at the Auto Expo today. Called the AE-47, the motorcycle looks like a premium product with some high-end features.
There¡¯s upside-down forks front suspension with a large single disc brake up front. Rear suspension duties are being handled by a mono-shock and there¡¯s a disc brake for the rear wheel too. The electric motor too seems to be mounted on the wheel hub (probably to keep costs down).
A full digital display is also present, though most other controls are fairly conventional.
Powering the motorcycle is a 4kW motor that is powered by a 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery. The Hero AE-47 also boasts of a top speed of 85 km/h and has two riding modes ¨C power and eco. In eco mode Hero claims that the motorcycle can cover 120 kms while in power mode the range is reduced to 85 kms. The battery takes 4 hours to fully charge.
