Auto Expo 2020: Renault Brings Affordable Electric Cars To Auto Expo, Kwid EV Launch In 2022
The Kwid EV also known as K-ZE in the Chinese market was present at the Renault stall. The tiny electric vehicle has some impressive specs ¨C it has a claimed range of about 271 km on a full charge. And whats even better is that the car will be assembled in India for the local market.
Renault may not have any all new production cars to show at the Auto Expo this year, but the company had something really interesting for the electric vehicle enthusiasts. The Kwid EV, also known as K-ZE in the Chinese market was present at the Renault stall.
The tiny electric vehicle has some impressive specs ¨C it has a claimed range of about 271 km on a full charge, comes with a 44 hp electric motor and a 26.8 kWh battery. And what¡¯s even better is that the car will be assembled in India for the local market.
Renault India Managing Director Venkatram Mamillapalle said that "We are working towards launching our first Electric Vehicle within the next 2 years. Rather than launching a niche product, our aim is to launch an affordable product, catering to the mass market".
Another electric vehicle at Renault pavilion at Auto Expo 2020 was the Zoe EV. The European electric car has even more impressive specs for its dinky size. The Zoe EV has a range of 395 kms thanks to a bigger 52 kWh battery and good performance because of the 134 hp motor.
