Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has cleared all the confusion surrounding BS-IV compliant vehicles. The minister has confirmed that all the vehicles purchased up to March 2020 will be allowed to run on Indian roads for their entire registration period.
The announcement comes as a relief for many, especially those who had recently bought a BS-IV compliant vehicle or were planning to do so in the coming months. ¡°BS-IV vehicles which are purchased up to March 2020 will remain operational for their entire duration of registration,¡± confirmed the finance minister, now dispelling any rumours that their use will be put to an end. The minister also cited the fact that auto makers are still coming up with more BS-IV compliant engines, meaning putting an end to their use by next year is completely illogical.
