Mercedes-Benz GLC 2019 Facelift Launched At Rs 52.75 Lakh
Mercedes-Benz launched the new GLC SUV back in 2016. The SUV has managed to garner a sweet spot for itself in its segment in the Indian market. Now it is set to get better with new face-lift variants priced at Rs 5275 lakh for the GLC 200. The GLC facelift will feature Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system for the first time in India.
Mercedes-Benz rivalled the likes of BMW X3 and Volvo XC60 with the launch of its GLC back in 2016. In the three years since, the SUV has managed to garner a sweet spot for itself in its segment in the Indian market. Now, it is set to get better with new face-lift variants priced at Rs 52.75 lakh for the GLC 200, while the GLC 200d 4Matic will be priced at Rs 57.75 lakh.
Mercedes-Benz has made sure that the new GLC SUV stands apart from its own line-up as well. That is reiterated with the nifty tags that the car comes with. A notable one is that of being the first Mercedes with on-board virtual assistant based MBUX infotainment. In addition, there are visual upgrades on the outside over the outgoing model, some luxury additions in the cabin and new BS-VI compliant engine options. Here is a look at all these upgrades on the new GLC facelift.
Exteriors
Appearance of the new GLC borrows heavily from the previous model. Nifty upgrades can be seen at the front and the back though. These include a new grille with fluted inserts, a black surface for the Mercedes logo at the centre, revised LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, a tweaked front bumper with chrome highlight as well as new angular air intakes.
At the back, the GLC facelift sports redesigned LED tail lamps and an integrated exhaust that now looks much sportier than before. Mercedes-Benz has also used new 19 inch alloy wheels on the GLC facelift.
Interiors
Notably, the 2019 GLC facelift gets new finishing options for the centre console - piano lacquer, open-pore ash wood and walnut wood surface. The rest of the cabin dons a black and silver finish.
Plus, the GLC facelift will feature Mercedes-Benz¡¯ MBUX system for the first time in India. This will comprise of a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen at the centre that will be operational through a touchscreen display, gesture control, steering wheel touch controls, voice control by saying ¡®Hey Mercedes¡¯ as well as through the touch pad on the centre console. Connected car features are also on offer with the GLC through its Mercedes Me suite.
Other features will include ambient lighting options, auto-climate control, touch sensitive steering controls, panoramic sunroof and other such common features in the segment.
Safety features
Mercedes-Benz has equipped the GLC with several safety as well as driver assist functions, including front, side, knee and curtain airbags, Dynamic Body Control suspension, Off-Road Engineering Package, active steering assist, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, route-based speed adaptation as well as brake assist.
Engine options
Mercedes-Benz has introduced a BS-VI compliant engine lineup for the new GLC facelift. The company¡¯s new-generation four-cylinder engines will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. There is a GLC 200 option as the base variant, priced at Rs 52.75 lakh. Meanwhile the GLC 220d 4MATIC, powered by the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine delivering 192 bhp and 400 Nm torque is priced at Rs 57.75 lakh.
All the variants will get the 9 G-Tronic automatic transmission as standard. Mercedes GLC facelift will be available in six colour options across the two engine variants.
