Tesla Model 3 Just Beat BMW, Mercedes And Audi Sales Combined In Its Segment!
Tesla released its second quarter 2019 results recently and with that came some bold claims from the US EV maker. One of many was the fact that its most affordable offering in the market - the Tesla Model 3 is outshining all of its gasoline counterparts. The company predicts a steady or even exponential in some cases growth in the production of the Model 3.
While India is still in the nascent stages of embracing the electric vehicle ecosystem, several countries have a head start in the race. The US, for instance, is one nation where EVs are being preferred by more and more people every month, so much so that the sales of electric vehicles are now superseding those of their counterparts. Being home to the company that propelled it all, the sales figures naturally are dominated by one EV player in general - Tesla Motors.

One look at the sales numbers and we know that the ¡°outshining¡± is an understatement. The Model 3 is ripping apart its competition, piling sales numbers more than all of the others combined!
The story of the Model 3 has been a roller-coaster ride for the company too. Tesla¡¯s plans to launch an affordable electric car were well awaited throughout its markets since long. Once into production, there were several challenges faced by Tesla to keep the production numbers at pace with the demand. After an initially bumpy ride, Tesla now enjoys a comfortable position concerning the production of the Model 3.
¡°In Q2, Model 3 deliveries reached an all-time record of 77,634. Not only was Model 3 once again the best-selling premium vehicle in the US, outselling all of its gas-powered equivalents combined, this product also gained traction in other markets,¡± says Tesla in its Quarterly report.

The company predicts a steady (or even exponential in some cases) growth in the production. With its Shanghai Gigafactory in China set to go into operation by the end of this year, that will also give a huge boost to the production of the electric car. The company aims to produce ¡°10,000 total vehicles of all models per week by the end of 2019.¡±
The totality of the report highlights an interesting trend in the automotive world. While most of the other OEMs are experiencing a decline in sales, electric vehicles are gaining momentum in the market and are now the preferred option for many. So as long as the consumers are assured of the charging network to support their operations, EVs are no longer considered an alternate option but are the primary one.
