Karnataka Is Opening The Gates To The World's Largest Solar Park!
The Pavagada Solar Park - named &lsquoShakti Sthala&rsquo - has a 2000 Mega Watt MW capacity and is spread over 13000 acres. The park will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today. It will support 2300 farmers who earn up to Rs 21000 per acre.
India is also setting many examples when it comes to harnessing solar energy. For example, the Gurdwaras in Delhi are going green with solar power. Even the Railways is adopting this renewable source by giving 11 of its stations, rooftop solar panels which will help save more than 50% of the electricity bill.

Now, the world's largest solar park is about to be inaugurated one day before the festival of Holi. The Pavagada Solar Park - named ¡®Shakti Sthala¡¯ - has a 2000 Mega Watt (MW) capacity, and is spread over 13,000 acres.
The park will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today. The park is situated in the dry region of Pavagada and will support 2,300 farmers who earn up to Rs 21,000 per acre of land, reports The Indian Express.

The park has been executed at a cost of Rs 16,500 crore. The tariff will be Rs 3.30 per unit. The solar park will sprawl across five villages.
