It starts near Sonamarg, in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, which is situated about 75 km away from Srinagar."

According to the vlogger, the best time to visit Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is between July and September. This is the only time of year when the walk can be completed safely. The rest of the year, snow makes it impossible to walk in the area. While most hikes in the country are closed during the monsoon season, things are slightly different in Kashmir.

The Pir Panjal Range spans 288 kilometres, preventing monsoon clouds from travelling across Kashmir Valley. As a result, compared to the rest of the Himalayan paths, there is plenty of sunshine and nice weather during these months.

The countryside becomes greener and more alive, making the journey even more delightful. In early July, the first blossoms can be seen among patches of snow at higher elevations. July and August are the hottest months in Kashmir with complete summer-like conditions.

September has the most magnificent weather - there's a slight chill in the air and brilliant blue skies to bask under. Snow begins to fall in the valley at the end of September.
