Life is hard for people with disability, what makes things harder for then is 'inconsiderate' blokes around them. Well, it seems like that the world is full of it.
Amit Patel, a resident of London who is visually impaired had the misfortune of encountering some of these ungrateful souls.
In a heartbreaking Twitter post, Patel shared a story of how commuters in the London subway didn't budge to give seats for him and his guide dog at the disabled priority section.
People can be so selfish, they pretend they can¡¯t see or hear when I ask if there¡¯s a seat available. Its so humiliating when I struggle to find something to hold onto & keep Kika safe at the same time, this is when you¡¯ll see a tear running down my face. Life is difficult enough https://t.co/HMqGeJqRmh

An emotional Amit went on to write that the incident moved him to tears.
Thank you all for you kind messages unfortunately being ignored when asking for a seat is a daily occurrence for us. I was very upset yesterday as the floor on the train was slippery, Kika kept sliding & she was obviously distressed. She looks after me everyday & I felt useless.

That's how selfish people can be!
Patel who also has a Twitter page for his guide dog named Kika, shared an emotional post saying, "Dad had to stand with his back against the doors whilst trying not to slip & I was sliding all over the place as the floor was wet. Have some humanity people"

But his ordeal didn't seem to end there, he caught another thankless man asking him to move his guide dog aside - just so he could get down a London Underground escalator.
If you ever wondered why dad is so concerned about my wellbeing when out & about, maybe this video will give you a glimpse of just how much focus I need to navigate a busy environment. Speaking to the London Evening Standard after the incident, Amit said: "Moments like this are destroying, it really knocks my confidence."
"I will dwell on it all day, it just makes me think, 'Is society really like that?' It makes me feel like a little boy again."
According to the report, Amit Patel was a doctor until he lost his sight, and it's his guide dog Kika who helps with every little thing.
It makes us feel sad to read and hear about such incidents. A little consideration, a little empathy is all it takes to be a little more human. Come on guys, we're supposed to be better than this.
