Kalki Talks About Why Millennials Are A Smart Generation And She Hits The Nail On The Head
Actress Kalki talks about millennials and how as a generation they're evolving faster, smarter and better.
We millennials are as confused and as sorted as the last generation. We are not discovering anything new. We¡¯re not discovering electricity. We¡¯re finding out our way. We¡¯re finding out answers by living through the experience.

The average millennial
The notion that millennials are difficult to work with isn¡¯t fair, as I mostly work with this age group and I don¡¯t find them difficult. In fact, we are passionate, energetic and believe in things that we want. We are confident - however, the only hindrance is the lack of experience which can make us less confident.
We¡¯re figuring out relationships. We¡¯re handling technology well, especially social media, as it has allowed us to get out there and be what we want. It also made us entrepreneurs without the help of middle men or bigger bosses.

Surviving the real world as a millennial
Today, it¡¯s a stressful world and we tend to take too much stress. We overthink and take an unnecessary load. We travel to reconnect. It helps a lot when we leave our phones for a while and reconnect with nature. All we need is to sit back and connect with nature a bit.
We are moving fast and we¡¯re learning fast. We¡¯re experiencing a lot of things. We¡¯re using the internet and technology is helping us learn new things. However, we should also agree that we have attention deficiency because we are constantly looking at ten things at one time.
Once we breakup, we move on by becoming a better person in life. Once we get closure, we learn from the relationship and try to be better at the next one.

As fast as our lives are, we tend to eat fast too. We don¡¯t take care of our bodies. Therefore, it is necessary that we concentrate on doing yoga and other physical activities. We also tend to stress too much about things and thus, occasionally we need to switch off our phones and head towards the mountains to take a break. We need to get away from the noises and be in a calm place once in a while.
Reality in the time of the millennial
We have gone through the phase of commercialisation and we aren¡¯t greedy anymore. When we have everything, we're now thinking how can we give back. We are now thinking about long lasting things rather than materialistic things.
What is great about millennials is that they don¡¯t have a ¡®mere paas sabse badi gaadi hai, so I have arrived¡¯ mentality. Things like that don¡¯t matter anymore. It¡¯s cool even if you¡¯re travelling in a rickshaw. They care about what you can do as a person.

We need to learn the value of permanence from the older generation. We need to know how to fix things rather than buying new ones.
The layers of a millennial
We should now evolve further and throw away identities. We don¡¯t have to dress in a certain way to show that we¡¯re different. We should now accept that we have layers. One can be a lesbian, a mother and a teacher. It¡¯s about time we realise that human beings have layers.
