What Falling For The Wrong People Teaches Us From Time To Time
Whenever I catch an episode of ¡®How I Met Your Mother¡¯, Ted Mosby, the protagonist gives me hope to not give up on love. Agreed, that it¡¯s a fictional show and that life is not always about going on bad dates, however it¡¯s always good to relate to someone and ask ourselves ¡®what would have a fictional character done in this situation¡¯?
Just like Ted Mosby, many of us have kissed the wrong frogs, expecting them to turn into the ¡®the one and only¡¯ prince or princess. However, nothing like that ever happens. You meet, you have ¡®something¡¯ going on, and then that ¡®something¡¯ eventually ends leaving some bitter sweet memories. Once that happens, we try taking a step back and vow never to fall in the ¡®love trap¡¯ again. Bur, who are we kidding, right? A beautiful face on Tinder or a cute Instagram follow or a sweet smile at a coffee shop is is all it takes for our heart to beat faster again.
You cannot turn your back on love. It would eventually find you. Here¡¯s something that you must keep in mind, if your love boat keeps hitting the rocky shores.
1. Life moves on and so do you

It¡¯s like trial and error. The error causes much pain, but aren¡¯t you now a ¡®pro¡¯ at handling it? At the end of the day, you know you¡¯ve got to respect the time and move on.
2. You follow a pattern
Believe it or not, you always follow a pattern in dating. For instance ¨C If your ex fling was a sport enthusiast, you would try to find that streak in your current relationship too. Or if you¡¯re looking for love on tinder, you would keep looking for right swipes on it, despite it not being helping you.
3. You become strong emotionally

You are now immune to the pain that is caused by failing relationships. I mean it hurts, but you know how to heal yourself with time.
4. You get to know how people truly are

It¡¯s funny to see how people change. The person who once used to adore you, now has blocked you from their social accounts. It¡¯s appalling to see such a drastic change of behaviour. With situations, people change too.
5. You stop comparing between two individuals

After a point, you understand that two personalities are different. You stop comparing your exes and understand that the person you are dating now is different than the person you were dating earlier.
6. You take on life as it comes
You now don¡¯t have unrealistic expectations from life. For instance, you don¡¯t believe that a prince would come to you riding on a white horse. That¡¯s just BS. You take on life as it comes, without planning and expecting much from it.
7. You understand that life carries millions of possibilities
tumblr
You may be dating a horrible person now, but you don¡¯t know how awesome your life would be if you meet someone better. There are millions of possibilities that can happen in life and now you¡¯re open to all of them.
8. You start treating life as an adventure
tumblr
You¡¯re always excited to meet new people. You don¡¯t have a particular intention of hooking up with them or going long term, it¡¯s just that you want to know people and their stories. You don¡¯t get scared of taking risks in relationships.
9. You realise how important your family and friends are
tumblr
People come and go. However, your constants remain. You start valuing your family and friends as you realise that they aren¡¯t like others. They genuinely love you and would stand by you, come, what, may.
10. Every relationship is beautiful
tumblr
It doesn¡¯t matter how it ended, but every person gives you memories that you would cherish for your entire life. Be it a memorable trip with someone or a night of wild sex. The memories would always be with you, no matter what!
11. You don¡¯t give up on love

The most important lesson that you learn is that you don¡¯t give up on love, no matter how hurtful your past relationship was. Love keeps you going, despite of bumps and bruises on the way. You¡¯re positive that life would get you someone that completely sweep you off your feet. And, most importantly someone who would stay.
