All That Glitters Is Gold! Natasha Poonawalla Stuns In A Sabyasachi Saree At Met Gala 2022
The theme of Met Gala this year was Gilded Glamour and Natasha Poonawalla stole hearts in a stunning gold saree by Sabyasachi.
One of the most fashionable nights of the year, the Met Gala 2022 took place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, recently and there were plenty of outfits carried by celebrities that stole the show.
Be it Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas giving major spooky vibes or Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe¡¯s JFK dress, it was a night full of glitz, glamour, and ofcourse, drama.
The theme of Met Gala this year was Gilded Glamour and many celebs brought their A Game forward.
The executive director of Serum Institute of India, Natasha Poonawalla, was also a part of the event and stole hearts in a stunning saree.
The saree is designed by celebrated designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and was paired with a metal bustier, designed by the house of Schiaparelli.
Sharing details about the costume, Sabyasachi's Instagram handle read, "For the 2022 Met Gala, themed ¡®In America: An Anthology of Fashion¡¯, Natasha Poonawalla¡¯s vision was to interpret the dress code ¡®gilded glamour¡¯ with an Indian gaze that revels in its multi-culturalism and authenticity. She wears a Schiaparelli hand-forged metal bustier paired with a custom Sabyasachi couture sari and trail.
"Sabyasachi contributed to Natasha¡¯s vision by celebrating Indian craftsmanship with a gold handcrafted printed tulle sari and trail embroidered with silk floss thread and embellished with bevel beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, sequins and appliqu¨¦d printed velvet. The jewellery is a curation of custom pieces from Sabyasachi Fine Jewellery and limited edition collectibles from Sabyasachi¡¯s Curiosity Art & Antiquity Project¡ªcrafted using traditional techniques with precious and semi-precious stones."
Various Bollywood actresses including Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor, and Karisma Kapoor among others are showering praises on Natasha's ensemble. It is indeed a proud moment to see the six yards making it to the Met Gala.
"Woah woman, you nailed it," wrote Malaika who is known for her glamorous fashion choices in the industry.
Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, "The one and only...uff...love love love."
"That's my girl," wrote Karisma Kapoor as she shared Natasha's picture as her Instagram story.
Earlier, Priyanka Chopra had made headlines when she opted for the classic six yards for a pre-Oscars celebration. The saree is a timeless ensemble that can be worn on almost any occasion. And it looks absolutely gorgeous, right?
