Responding quickly to the report of her suicide on the evening of April 27, Jogsar police, led by Station House Officer Krishna Nandan Kumar Singh, arrived at the scene. They found Amrita¡¯s body in her bedroom, and immediate efforts by her family to save her life were unsuccessful. She was later declared dead at a local private hospital.
The Forensic Science Laboratory team has examined the scene, and items such as a saree noose, her mobile phone, and other personal materials have been taken by the police for further analysis.
Despite the joy of celebrating her sister Veena¡¯s wedding just a day earlier, Amrita¡¯s sudden death has left her family and fans in shock. According to her relatives, she had been experiencing considerable stress about her career and was undergoing treatment for depression.
Amrita, who was married to animation engineer Chandramani Jhangad of Mumbai, had no children.
