A Minecraft Movie OTT Release Update: Jason Momoa and Jack Black recently headlined this adventure fantasy film, which is winning hearts globally despite mixed reviews from critics. Released theatrically on April 4 this year, the comedy is currently the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2025 and the tenth-highest-grossing video game film of all time. When and where to expect A Minecraft Movie online?

Warner Bros. have released A Minecraft Movie, which means it will eventually be available to stream on Max. Although there isn't a specific release date yet, Warner Bros. usually puts its movies on Max about 2 to 3 months after they first come out in theaters. So, you can expect it to be on Max sometime around June or July 2025.

For example, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire came out on March 29, 2024, and was available on Max 97 days later, on July 4. The movie Wonka (2023) took 84 days to get to Max, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom arrived in just 67 days after its release in December 2023. Before A Minecraft Movie shows up on Max, you'll be able to buy or rent it on digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and YouTube TV.

Normally, movies take about 45 days after their theater release to become available digitally. The timing can also depend on how well the movie does at the box office. A Minecraft Movie has already had a successful opening, so it might stay in theaters a little longer. If everything goes according to the usual schedule, you could be able to stream it digitally by May 19, 2025, as per a Forbes report.

Based on the 2011 video game Minecraft by Mojang Studios, the film is directed by Jared Hess and written by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta, from a story by Allison Schroeder, Bowman, and Palmer. Other than Jason and Jack, A Minecraft Movie also stars Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Hansen, Jennifer Coolidge, Rachel House, Jemaine Clement, Jared Hess and Matt Berry among others.
