Bobby Deol on his role in Aashram

He recalls being given a part in the series by filmmaker Prakash Jha in an interview with ANI. He said he was open to trying new things and stepping outside of his comfort zone. He did concede, though, that an actor's reputation is frequently cultivated in a particular manner within the profession. At first he thought he would be offered the role of police officer when he got a message from Prakash Jha asking to meet. "Aap baba ka role play karenge" is what Jha said instead, which surprised him.
