Animal's OTT Release Sparks Fan Discontent: No Extended Cut, Censored Cigarette On Poster

One of the most controversial movies of last year, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal has been released on OTT, but fans are disappointed. The film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna did great business at the box office, but fans were expecting an uncut version to be released online. Not just the director, even Bobby Deol had also hinted that the extended cut would likely be streamed. Sadly, that didn't happen.

Animal's OTT Release: No Extended Cut?

As fans played the movie on Netflix, they noticed that the run-time was 3 hours 24 minutes, which was more than 3 hours 21 minutes - the version released in theatres. They thought the OTT version has Animal's deleted scenes, but once they played the film, it turned out to be 3 hours 21 minutes long only.

While fans were expecting some of the scenes that couldn't be released in theatres because of censorship might hit the OTT screens, they noticed that it was censored more on OTT. For instance, Ranbir's cigarette was removed from the poster.

What were fans expecting in Animal Extended Cut?

Earlier, Bobby Deol who plays the villain in the movie had revealed that there was a kissing scene between Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol in the movie that didn't make the final cut for theatres. He said that the extended version might be released on Netflix. "There was a kiss," between the characters he said and added that when Vanga was narrating the film to him, he told him, "You're fighting, and you suddenly kiss him, and then you don¡¯t give up, and he kills you."

Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also said that he would add extra minutes in Animal OTT version.

Turns out, Animal's extended runtime on OTT was a hoax.
