Ayushmann's Anek Might Have Received Lukewarm Response In Theatres But It's A Big Hit On OTT!
Films, like people, have destinies. However, thanks to OTT, there is a boom and an advantage for films that did not perform well on the big screen. Anek is one such film; it did poorly in theatres but performed well on Netflix.
Films, like people, have destinies. However, thanks to OTT, there is an advantage for films that could not perform well on the big screen. Anek is one such film; it did poorly in theatres but performed amazingly well on Netflix.
I, like many others, watched Anek on Netflix. Honestly, I was really excited to see Ayushmann Khurrana's Anek because he is known for selecting great stories and characters. 15 minutes into the movie, though, I began to feel disengaged and less invested than I had been with his earlier films like Article 15, Andhadhun, Bala, and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. However, despite having an excellent message, Anek was unable to capture my attention for the film.
However, different people have different opinions, and Anek received mixed reviews from critics and the audience. The most surprising aspect here is that Netflix did not promote the film in the same way that it did Gangubai Kathiawadi or Bhool Bhulaiya 2. Anek, on the other hand, managed to score the watch hour and was the second most-watched non-English film in the world.
The horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiya 2 starring Kiara Advani, Karthik Aryan, and Tabu has managed to stay on the top of Netflix's list of watch hours. However, Anek managed to surpass this film and become the second most-watched non-English film. I'm glad for one thing: Anek had a beautiful message, and the more people saw it, the more the message got spread.
In the film, Ayushmann Khurana asks, "Kese Pata Chalta Hai Ki Kon Indian Hai?"
Here¡¯s What Do Netizens Have To Say About Anek
Peace is a subjective hypothesis. Buddha achieved Peace but what about the peace of his son Rahul and wife Yashodhara. Peace is never achieved. Violence is achieved. They are some dialogues from the movie #Anek. Thought-provoking movie. Recommended. Must watch. #AyushmannKhurrana

1) The reason why #Anek didn¡¯t do well in the box office is because most mainland Indians know nothing about the NE and have no interest in learning about the realities of the NE. This movie is the only movie with has true NE representation. I¡¯m guessing most reviewers too know..

Thought of watching #Anek & was about to renew the subscription of #Netflix. Just because I love to watch #AyushmannKhurrana work but suddenly I saw director name and it was #anubhavsinha & I dropped the idea as I can't watch an Anti Bharat and Anti Hindu propagandist work.

Anubhav Sinha's target audience might enjoy what is actually a very poor film on politics, northeast and diversity. #Anek

My review #Anek (2022) : The pairing of @ayushmannk and @anubhavsinha always brings something fresh. The movie is based on the riots, social issuess and Mao activities happening in the North-East of India. And I don't understand why the audience rejected this?. (1/4).

Good Content & Very Bad execution. Ayushman ok. Poor Supporting cast. Dir couldnt convey d issue/story properly. It confuses. Intensity is missing. Couple of dialogues & scenes gud. Otherwise its empty. Uninteresting, Documentary Feel. DISAPPOINTING! pic.twitter.com/MsWYX0iWzJ
