Telgi's Early Life
In 1956, Telgi, who was raised in a lowly household in Karnataka, went from being a fruit vendor to a notorious conman. In the early 2000s, his scandal over fake stamp sheets shook India. It was a special fraudulent scheme that permanently altered the financial landscape of the country.

The con ultimately came to light in 2001, and Telgi's empire started to disintegrate. He was given a 30-year prison term after being charged with fraud, forgery, and various other offenses. He passed away there in 2017.

The new series seeks to accurately portray the circumstances underlying the scam. It aims to shed light on Abdul Karim Telgi, the perpetrator of the crime, and the systemic corruption that permitted such a swindle to persist for ten years. The series shall also tell us how Ram Ratan Soni, a stamp vendor serving time for allegedly falsifying share papers, was introduced to Abdul while he was imprisoned. Soni piqued Abdul's interest in the stock market, and after Abdul had finished his senence, he became entangled in a larger con.
Soni assisted Abdul as he began creating fake stamp papers. According to media sources, there was never enough of the legal document to satisfy demand. In order to print stamp papers, Telgi acquired obsolete printing equipment from Nashik Security Press.
