Netflix has revealed the release date and teaser for Black Warrant, its first confirmed release of 2025. Based on the book 'Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer', the series follows a rookie jailer navigating the gritty world of Tihar Jail in the 1980s, featuring Zahan Kapoor in his debut role.
Black Warrant OTT release date has been revealed by Netflix. The prison drama is set to be released on January 10. Along with the announcement came an exciting teaser for the highly anticipated prison drama, marking Vikramaditya Motwane's much-awaited return to Netflix after the success of Sacred Games and CTRL.
Plot
The Black Warrant series is based on the book 'Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer' by author Sunil Gupta, a former superintendent at Tihar Jail, and journalist-author Sunetra Choudhury.
Set in the 1980s, it delves into the gripping world of Tihar, Asia's largest prison, through the eyes of rookie jailer Sunil Kumar Gupta.
The series follows Sunil and his colleagues as he confronts some of India's most infamous criminals and navigates a system that challenges their beliefs.
Amidst moral dilemmas and power struggles, Black Warrant offers a raw and unfiltered look at the harsh realities of prison life.
