The OTT rights of the film produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor and Anil Kapoor under the banner Balaji Motion Pictures, Anil Kapoor Films and Communication Network have been sold to Netflix reportedly. Hence, once the film is out of theatres, it will be streaming on the OTT giant.

When to watch Crew on OTT?

Crew's OTT release date has not been fixed as of yet. The film will not be streamed before two months of its theatrical release, at least. As per the latest reports, the movie is all set to be released on OTT on May 24. However, an official announcement on the same is awaited.

As per various reports, the plot of the film is loosely inspired by the life of the well-known business magnate Vijay Mallya, who was the owner of Kingfisher Airlines. However, it is not a biopic. Crew is the second-highest Hindi grosser after Fighter in 2024.

Is Crew sequel on cards?

As per a report on Variety, a sequel of the film is on the cards. A sequel has been proposed for Crew, Rhea Kapoor told Variety ahead of the film's release on OTT. "I really get scared of sequels, I¡¯m so afraid of them, Ektaa gets so annoyed with me¡­ but this is the first film where I finished the film and a week later, my writers have messaged me and told me that they have an idea for the sequel. I was like, this is crazy. This is insane. There¡¯s so much excitement and joy around this film that this time I might actually just do it. But I actually think that this film could make a really fun sequel because the end is open-ended," she was quoted as saying.

The story of the movie revolves around three hardworking women whose lives take unexpected turns, leading them into tricky situations and entangling them into a complex web of deceit. Directed by Rajesh Krishnan of Lootcase fame, the film is set against the backdrop of the struggling airline industry.

As seen in the trailer, Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti are essaying the roles of badass air hostesses. From stealing peanut boxes meant for flights to planning to earn a lot of money and raising the glam quotient, the trio seeks to grab eyeballs.

Crew is written by duo Mehul Suri and Nidhi Mehra who shared about the training session that the lead actresses went through for the role of air hostess. "They had former cabin crew members on set for a few days to help with authenticity. Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti paid close attention, asking questions and ensuring accuracy in their portrayal through constant communication with the team," the duo said.
