Set in 1996, Daaku Maharaaj follows philanthropist Krishnamurthy and his granddaughter Vaishnavi, who find themselves targeted by criminals exploiting his tea estate for illegal operations.

Unbeknownst to them, a former dacoit leader, Sitaram (Daaku Maharaaj), watches over them from the shadows.

As danger escalates, he steps in, revealing his hidden past and taking on the criminals in a final showdown, ultimately eliminating their ruthless leader, Balwant.

Flashing back to 1992, Sitaram's journey unfolds¡ªonce an engineer, his life took a drastic turn after corrupt landlords destroyed his village.

Determined to seek justice, he became an outlaw, exposing their wrongdoings, shutting down illegal mines, and championing the construction of a dam.

Returning to the present, he discovers that Vaishnavi is his late wife's daughter, leading him to take a final stand against those responsible for her tragic fate.

The Times of India calls Daaku Maharaaj a "high-octane entertainer" that stands out due to Nandamuri Balakrishna's powerful performance, stylish action sequences, and strong technical execution.

However, the review also highlights some drawbacks, stating, "The storyline, though engaging, treads familiar ground, leading to predictability in key moments. The lack of depth in the antagonist's characterisation diminishes the potential for greater narrative complexity. Additionally, the pacing falters in the second half, with certain scenes feeling drawn out or repetitive."

Meanwhile, India Today refers to the film as a "decent template entertainer," packed with "classic Balayya elements" that will appeal to the star's die-hard fans.
