Daveed OTT Release Date: Antony Varghese¡¯s latest Malayalam film won him massive appreciation from both audiences and critics. Released theatrically on 14th February, the actioner earned Rs 6 crore at the box office. Now, it is ready to make a digital debut. According to OTTPlay, Daveed will be streaming on Zee5 starting April 18, 2025.

Other than Antony, it also features Mo Ismail, Lijomol Jose, Vijayaraghavan, Saiju Kurup, Kichu Tellus, Kukku, Varghese, Ramesh, Mohan, Narayanan, Bibin, Sandra and Deepu Rajeevan among others. Directed by debutant Govind Vishnu, who also co-wrote it with Deepu Rajeevan, Daveed is produced by Aby Alex Abraham, Tom Joseph, Century Max John & Mary Productions and Panorama Studios.

Daveed¡¯s plot summary

This Justin Varghese musical is cinematographed by Salu K. Thomas and edited by Rakesh Cherumadam. Daveed revolves around Aashiq Abu, a former boxer who now leads a laid-back life, while his wife takes care of most things at home. They have a happy but simple life in a slum, with their lively daughter adding to the mix of minor arguments and big moments of happiness.

Abu works as a security guard for celebrities to make ends meet. His friend (Saiju Kurup) often hangs out with him. One day, Abu is hired to protect a famous international boxer, Sainul Akhmadov, known for being unbeatable in the ring. But something goes wrong, and that¡¯s where the story really starts.

Daveed¡¯s review

The Times of India rated the movie 3.5 out of 5, and a part of their review read, ¡°Daveed is a well-made, entertaining sports drama. The film, given its genre, could have ended up being very predictable¡ªand it is, to an extent¡ªbut the execution and the journey to these plot points are what make it an engrossing experience. Despite missteps, the film is overall a worthy watch. It boasts a grand scale and commendable execution.¡±
