Demon City OTT release date Netflix: Oni Goroshi, a solid live-action version of Masamichi Kawabe's highly popular comic, will soon be released on OTT. It tells the story of how Kimen-gumi kills Shuhei Sakata's wife and daughter just as he is about to clean up his act for his family. The film's ensemble cast includes some of Japan's best actors, such as Masahiro Higashide, Masanobu Takashima, and Matsuya Onoe. Demon City will be released on Netflix on 27th February 2025.

Plot

Hitman Shuhei Sakata is about to make amends for his family until his wife and daughter are killed by the shadowy group Kimen-gumi, who then accuse him and tarnish his reputation. He is shot in the head, but he somehow lives despite going into a coma. His repressed killer instinct reawakens twelve years later, and he embarks on an epic quest for vengeance when the Kimen-gumi threatens him once more. But what lies ahead of him is a reality that could fundamentally change his course in life.

Cast and crew

Demon City stars Toma Ikuta, Masahiro Higashide, Mio Tanaka, Ami Touma, Taro Suruga, Mai Kiryu, Naoto Takenaka, Takuma Otoo, Masanobu Takashima, Matsuya Onoe and others. Seiji Tanaka serves as the Director and Screenplay writer, while Yoshihiro Sato takes on the role of Executive Producer. The film is produced by Yasuhiro Masaoka and Takeshi Sawa, with Ryuichi Ogata as the Line Producer. Kohei Kato handles the Cinematography, supported by Akihiro Shimura in Lighting. The Sound Recording is managed by Asuka Nemoto and Mikisuke Shimazu, while Norifumi Ataka is the Production Designer. Takashi Tanimoto leads the Action Direction.
