Dhadak 2 OTT release: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri¡¯s upcoming romantic drama is one of the most anticipated Dharma outings - also because it is a spiritual sequel to 2018 one of the most hit films Dhadak. While you wait for the film to release on the big screen, here¡¯s the film¡¯s OTT update. Dhadak 2 will be streaming on Netflix after its theatrical release.
Dhadak 2 cast and crew
Written and directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh KR Bansal, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, and Somen Mishra under the banners of Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures. The movie is an official remake of 2018¡¯s Tamil drama Pariyerum Perumal and also stars Saurabh Sachdeva and Deeksha Joshi in key roles.
Shreyas Puranik composed the music for this film under the lyrics of Siddharth¨CGarima. With Sylvester Fonseca as the cinematographer and Sangeeth Varghese as the editor, Dhadak 2 was initially supposed to hit the theatres on November 22, 2024, but has now been pushed indefinitely to early 2025.
Dhadak 2 plot summary
The makers of Dhadak 2 have so far released only a short announcement video while maintaining the secrecy of the plot under wraps. However, here¡¯s the story of the Tamil movie that has been adapted. Pariyerum Perumal tells the story of a young man who belongs to a lower caste in a village. He dreams of becoming a lawyer and goes to law school in a nearby town. At the college, he faces discrimination and violence because of his caste despite being a bright student.
While in college, Pariyerum becomes close to a girl named Jo, who belongs to a higher caste. They form a friendship, but their relationship becomes difficult when others find out about their bond because of the strict caste-based rules in society. The film highly relies on the hardships of caste discrimination and how Pariyerum tries to stand up for himself, his dreams and the love of his life.
