Emilia P¨ŚrezĄŻs plot summary

A lawyer in Mexico City defends a woman in a murder case and wins by claiming it was a suicide. Later, a powerful cartel leader, Juan "Manitas" Del Monte, asks her to help him change his gender and start a new life as a woman. After surgery, Manitas fakes his death and becomes Emilia P¨Śrez. Four years later, Rita helps Emilia reunite with her children, but things get complicated when EmiliaĄŻs past catches up with her, and her ex-wife, Jessi, gets involved with her old lover.

Emilia works to help identify victims of the cartel. Eventually, a fight over Emilia's children leads to a deadly confrontation. Afterwards, Rita offers to take care of JessiĄŻs children, and Emilia is mourned by those who supported her.
