As per OTT Play, the rights to the movie have been sold to Netflix. Furthermore, it is said that the streaming giant has bought OTT rights of Family Star for Rs 16 crores. However, an official announcement on the same is awaited.

If the report is true, Family Star will stream on Netflix two months after its theatrical release. Since the film is releasing on April 5, it is expected to be out on OTT in June 2024.

What is the Family Star about?
As per the official synopsis of the movie, the story revolves around, "The highs and lows of family relationships in a Indian middle-class family. The life of Govardhan, who wants to achieve greatness in life but has to navigate through a myriad of relationship/trust/ego issues."

As per the latest reports, the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has objected to the use to certain cuss words in the film. The makers have been asked to mute five words including f**k and m*****od. Apart from that, excessive use of liquor labels in one of the songs has also been removed.
Also starring Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi and Ravi Babu, Vijay Devrakonda's girlfriend Rashmika Mandanna reportedly has a special appearance in the Telugu movie. The film's songs, meanwhile, are already viral on social media.
