Following TurtleMe's recent response to mounting fan criticism, the anime version of The Beginning After the End has seen an increase in backlash. Widespread disappointment has now replaced the cautious skepticism that started. Fans have expressed their preference for no adaptation at all over a badly done one in the deluge of responses on social media platforms. TurtleMe responds to The Beginning After the End anime criticism
Following the intense negative reaction to the anime production that debuted in April, TurtleMe, the author of The Beginning After The End, spoke to fans on Reddit before his appearance at Sakura-Con.
A part of the statement read, ¡°And with each iteration of TBATE, where more and more people are involved, comes its own unique set of challenges and intricacies. The anime adaptation has been a huge learning experience collaborating in an industry with so many different people across Tapas, Studio A-Cat, and Crunchyroll, who all bring their own unique vision of what TBATE the anime could be. ¡°
According to TurtleMe, they discovered firsthand how uncommon it is for creators to have a major say in how an anime is developed in its early phases. Since he was used to having total control over every element of The Beginning After the End, they recognized that this was a crucial learning experience for him. He was the only author of the novel, and he was in charge of all stages of the comic's creation. He soon discovered, though, that there were a lot of factors to take into account before production could even start when TBATE was optioned for an anime adaptation.

Fans Remain Unconvinced by the Explanation
Despite the statement, the backlash has not slowed down. Fans continue to express the same sentiment, saying the creators should have thought it through.
Reacting to the statement, one wrote, ¡°I¡¯d rather have no anime than a poorly made one. But I guess controversy brings in money to the franchise.¡±
Another went on to add, ¡°This doesn't really have anything to do with visual or creative differences. It's literally just a problem of not giving the show an appropriate budget for an anime. ¡°
A third added, ¡° I mean it's basically an acknowledgement that he heard the response and indirectly saying he doesn't have 100% say in the final product.¡±
