This is one of my favourite lines from the film, and it has stuck with me ever since I first watched the film. We frequently lavish love and attention on our mothers, but we usually fail to lavish love on our fathers.
Thankfully, we can see a shift in the characters of fathers depicted on the big screen. The story of the onscreen father has evolved from deeply divided responsibilities and patriarchal ideologies to more realistic and subtle aspects of fatherhood.

1. Santosh Mishra, Gullak
The Mishra family is led by Santosh Mishra. As the family's leader, he makes an effort to meet everyone's needs. And he works hard to overcome any difficulties he or his family may be experiencing. He is your typical Indian father who loves, cares for, and provides for his family. At the same time, he has witty comebacks.

2. Umesh Joshi, Home Shanti Home
Usually, the children in an Indian household are afraid of at least one of the parents. In most cases, the children fear their father. That is not the case in "Home Shanti Home." Umesh Joshi, a father-husband in his forties from a middle-class family, is a cheerful, fun-loving, and supportive father. He is a poet by profession and at heart. One can truly admire him for playing the role of a perfect husband and supportive father.

3. Thomas Shelby, Peaky Blinders
In the Peaky Blinders series, Thomas aka Tommy has three children. He is a busy father who is attempting to build an empire for his family. His eldest child is son Duke from a sex partnership with Zelda. Charles Shelby, his son by his first wife Grace, is his second child. Finally, Tommy's third child is Ruby Shelby, his second wife Lizzie's daughter.
Tommy's youngest died as a result of a curse cast by Evadne Barwell due to a family feud. He kills Barwell because he is enraged to know the truth about the curse is the reason for Ruby's death.

4. Arjun Talwar, Jersey
Arjun, played by Shahid Kapoor, plays the role of a father in the film Jersey. He is attempting to be present for his family and to meet his son's expectations. He was a Ranji Cricketer but stepped down when he was younger. However, when his son asked him to make a comeback at the age of 36, he agreed. And says, "Khelo na papa dil khol ke khelo," this line by his son, Kittu boosts Arjun's drive and motivation. The father-son bond is friendly and Arjun loves his son more than anyone or anything.

5. Marty Byrde, Ozark
Marty is a proud and encouraging father. Charlotte and Jonah Byrde are his two children. Jonah Byre, his younger son, is also following in his father's footsteps and laundering money for Ruth which makes Marty the happiest. He is Wendy Byrde's husband and a wonderful husband, if I may say so. He stood by Wendy even when she cheated on him.
Marty, despite being a criminal, is a cool and collected, smart, and loyal person. He has repeatedly demonstrated his devotion to his family. In the series, Ozark demonstrates that he will go to any length to keep them from being killed by the cartel.
6. Jayesh Parekh, Jayeshbhai Jordaar
Jayeshbhai is a hero to her daughter. Ranveer Singh plays Jayesh, a character who is less educated but has high thinking abilities. To save his unborn daughter, he goes to great lengths to provide a better life for both of his daughters. He protects his family regardless of what he is going through or the obstacles he is facing.
He is a wonderful father who is very close to his daughter Siddi. He is a loving father to his child and a supportive husband. Defying all patriarchal thinking in the society he lives in.

7. Pushkar Nath, The Kashmir Files
Anupam Kher plays Pushkar Nath, a teacher who is evicted from his Srinagar home after his son is brutally murdered. He appears to be a well-informed and educated individual. After all, he is a teacher!
Upon his son's murder, he tries to plug the gap in the family by assisting his daughter-in-law and his grandchildren. He makes sacrifices for his family's survival regularly; even in the rescue camp, when he was discovered to have poor vision, he chose to save the money he had for his grandchildren's education and needs.
As a grandfather and father-in-law, he has always been by their side, even when his health was suffering.

8. Brij Gopal Sharma, Sharmaji Namkeen
Sharmaji, played by Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal, has two sons, Rinku and Vincy. He shares his small West Delhi home with them. The film delves into the dynamics of a single father and his children. Sharmaji enjoys cooking and enjoys feeding his children with their favourite foods. The movie centres on the individual expression of a dad who is away from his children but dedicated to them at the very same time.
This comedy about single fatherhood is a joy to watch as it is an ode to all single fathers.

9. Uhtred, The Last Kingdom
Uhtred and Gisela married and had three children: Young Uhtred, Stiorra, and Osbert. Unfortunately, his wife Gisela died giving birth. Despite being raised by Vikings as a fighter, he is a very loving father. He agreed to have his children placed in Alfred's 'care' and baptised as Christians. And encouraged both of his children, Young Uhtred, to pursue a career as a Christian religious leaders. On the other hand, his daughter Stipeaorra stayed faithful to her mom's Danish origins.

10. Elderly Father, Dear Father
Paresh Rawal plays Ajay's elderly father in the film Dear Father. As usual, Paresh Rawal delivers an outstanding performance as a pushy, nasty, and constantly interfering manipulative father. He plays a retired purposeless old man who lives with his son and daughter-in-law, chatting about others and trying to pry into others' lives.

11. Vinod Khanna, Gehraiyaan
Naseeruddin shah portrays the father of Aisha, played by Deepika Padukone. He is a single dad. He adores her daughter, but the two have a strained relationship as a result of miscommunication that happened in their past. Despite their relationship's stress, he has always supported and respected her daughter's decisions.
