Kanneda¡¯s plot summary
Produced by Jar Pictures, Kanneda follows the story of Nimma (Parmish), a man who flees the violence of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and moves to Canada in search of a better life. However, his new beginning is far from smooth. The streets of Canada are unforgiving, and Nimma quickly finds himself caught in a world of broken systems, racism, and relentless hardship.
As he struggles through these challenges, his ambitions lead him into the dangerous territory of gang culture. Set against the backdrop of 1990s Canada, the series captures the immigrant experience and explores how music becomes Nimma¡¯s escape from the harsh realities surrounding him. But as his desire for power grows, so does the risk he faces.
Parmish Verma talks about Kanneda
Known for songs like Look Classy, Caran Caran and Dekhi Dekhi, Parmish called Kanneda a project close to his heart. ¡°Playing Nimma was a unique experience and as an artist, it was an incredibly fulfilling one.
