Lal Salaam OTT Release Date: The digital debut of this Rajinikanth¡¯s 2024 Tamil film has been long delayed, and it seems to have finally seen the light of day. Here¡¯s when and where you can expect it.
Lal Salaam OTT Release Date: Rajinikanth¡¯s one of the most talked about roles of all time, for both good and bad reasons, has been longing for a digital home for the longest time. Directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film¡¯s streaming rights were initially with Netflix, but because of some footage misplacement, it didn¡¯t happen. Now, it seems that Lal Salaam has found a different OTT partner.
According to Hindustan Times, Lal Salaam will be streaming on Sun NXT starting April 4, 2025. However, an official confirmation is awaited!
Lal Salaam¡¯s plot overview
Lal Salaam is set in a small village called Murarbad, where Hindus and Muslims live peacefully, brought together by their shared love for cricket. The story follows two talented cricketers, Thiru (Vishnu Vishal) and Shamsuddin (Vikranth), who are turned against each other by local politicians looking to create trouble for their own gain. As their rivalry grows, it causes tension between the two communities, breaking the harmony of the village.
Rajinikanth plays a key role as a wise and respected figure who helps bring the people together, offering guidance and a voice of reason amidst the chaos. As the village falls into conflict, the film shows how easily people can be divided by those in power. However, through cricket and Rajinikanth¡¯s leadership, the community starts to heal. Despite an engaging plot, Lal Salaam was a box office bomb.

Produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions, the film also stars Senthil, Jeevitha, K. S. Ravikumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Nirosha, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Livingston, Thangadurai, Akash Sahani, Poster Nandakumar, Pondy Ravi and Amit Tiwari among others. This A. R. Rahman musical is cinematographed by Vishnu Rangasamy and edited by B. Pravin Baaskar.
