From IIT to Netflix
According to a DNA article, Ranjan Raj's original goal was to become an engineer in order to provide for his family. He prepared for the JEE by going to a tutoring center in Patna after school, as advised by one of his mentors. He studied hard for two years, passed the exam, and enrolled in IIT Bombay. But when he got to IIT, he saw that students were engaged in extracurricular activities, which piqued his interest in acting.
In his second year of engineering, Ranjan decided to pursue acting seriously, finding it more fulfilling than engineering. He actively participated in theater events at other colleges, where he realized his natural talent for acting. Eventually, in his sixth year, he made the decision to leave IIT Bombay to pursue a career in acting full-time.
