Believe it or not, it was Saif Ali Khan who kickstarted the trend of OTT. Soon after, many peers and contemporaries followed suit and started exploring the digital medium. It was back in 2018, when Khan made his debut with the super hit web series Sacred Games.

The rage that this show created went on to ignite the fire and soon enough, web series became a way of life. It opened the door for several people - be it actors or makers to explore this avenue which was a new concept for the Indian audiences.
Recently, Saif Ali Khan revealed that his wife Kareena Kapoor was once told that he would only do TV after he signed up for Sacred Games. He accredited an open mindset for the boon of digital medium and shared how it has made him stay relevant over the years. Sacred Games ran for two seasons and in 2021, Saif signed another show, this time a political thriller called Tandav.

Talking to Dainik Bhaskar in an interview, Saif said, ¡°Shah Rukh Khan often tells me that people are not old, their thinking turns old. You can stay relevant as a person if you keep your thoughts new and updated. For example, when I accepted Sacred Games, someone told my wife 'Oh, Saif will only do TV now'. That when Sacred Games is not even a TV show, it was for an OTT platform.¡±
"So, I have made sure not to have such a mind set and that is the approach that has helped me stay relevant," he further added.
On the work front, he is basking in the praise of his recently released movie Vikram Vedha. His much talked about film Adipurush¡¯s teaser was dropped yesterday and it has garnered mixed reactions from the public. However, Saif has been getting a lot of applause for taking on different roles and playing them to perfection. In Adipurush, he will reportedly play the role of antagonist Raavan while Prabhas will portray Lord Ram.
