Samara¡¯s plot overview
Samara is about a former army doctor named Dr. Alan who lives alone in the mountains. His daughter, Jani, comes to visit him, but something strange and dangerous happens to her. Around the same time, a police officer named Antony comes to the area to look into some creepy murders. They soon find out that a deadly virus is behind everything, a virus that can turn people into wild, violent creatures.
This virus was created long ago during World War II and has now somehow come back. The only cure is with an old lady in Germany. As Alan and Antony dig deeper, they discover there¡¯s a big terrorist plot going on, and Alan¡¯s past is more connected to it than he thought. Now, they have to stop the virus from spreading before it¡¯s too late.
Samara¡¯s review
The Times of India rated the film 2.5 out of 5, and a part of their review read, ¡°The plot itself is a bit convoluted. Poor writing and a mishmash of elements tied up together to make a thriller- that's Samara. While the subject of bio-war is not something often explored in Malayalam, it's disappointing when done with little to no conviction. This supposed super-cop's heroics and brilliance, whatever it is, happen off-screen. With so much focus on the aesthetics, the characters never grow on viewers.¡±
