Secrets We Keep storyline

When Ruby, a young Filipino au pair (typically a woman, who helps with housework or childcare in exchange for food, a room, and some pocket money), vanishes from a wealthy neighbourhood just outside Copenhagen, her neighbour Cecilie suspects something is wrong.

As whispers and rumours swirl, Angel - Cecilie's own au pair - starts looking into the mystery.

The police show little urgency, and rookie investigator Aicha struggles to make progress. Cecilie and Angel decide to dig deeper, and as they do, the picture-perfect lives behind closed doors begin to crack.

But as the search for Ruby uncovers unexpected ties to Cecilie's own family, she's forced to question everything she thought she knew about her world, and herself.
