What is Talk To Me about?
On April 11, 2023, the official Talk To Me trailer was posted on A24's YouTube channel. The video shows how, after watching multiple live-streamed occurrences on social media, Sophie Wilde's character Mia is persuaded to attend a seance by her pals using an embalmed hand. Regretfully, even after the seance, Mia starts to experience hauntings from some evil entities.
Talk to Me centers on Mia (Sophie Wilde), a young woman who recently lost her mother, as she attends unique parties hosted by characters Joss (Chris Alosio) and Hayley (Zoe Terakes). The main attraction for these gatherings is a paranormal game involving an inscription on an embalmed hand that makes the bearer capable of possessing any random spirit. It is forbidden to hold the hand for more than ninety seconds, as this could allow the possessed to become the permanent residence of the spirit. These parties happen repeatedly and quickly build to a tragic conclusion.
The children are able to open doors to other worlds, but they are unable to close them. Mia becomes overly excited about the game, and her hidden agenda pushes her to the brink, which leads to her friend's horrifying death. This tragedy, along with Mia's painful past emerging, create a well-oiled coalition between the introspective examination of the psychological toll trauma takes and the supernatural happenings taking place outside of the body. Both the inside and the outside are gloomy.
