The Deliverance real story
As per TIME, the Ammons family allegedly came to believe that she and her children, who were then ages 7, 9, and 12, had been possessed by demons who were living in their newly-rented home on Carolina Street in Gary, according to an investigation into the family's alleged haunting that was published in 2014 by the Indianapolis Star.
According to Ammons, the family at the Carolina Street home observed that a lot of black flies were entering their screened-in porch in December 2011, even though it was still winter.
Over the following few months, Ammons apparently described increasingly strange and perilous incidents, and things supposedly became worse.

A clinical psychologist who evaluated Ammons' youngest son came to the conclusion that the boy's accounts of the possession were "bizarre, fragmented, and illogical."
Finally, in June 2012, Ammons underwent three significant exorcisms at the church of St. Stephen, Martyr parish in Merrillville, Indiana, and her new home in Indianapolis was blessed by Rev. Michael Maginot, the parish priest. In November 2012, Ammons was granted custody of her kids again after DCS took emergency custody of the kids some time before.
