The crime thriller has earned over Rs 55 crores at the box office and is finally streaming on OTT after a month. With an extended version taking the full length to 3 hours and 44 minutes, Viduthalai Part 2 is streaming on Prime Video.

Arrested Vaathiyaar shares his story with the police about his past, including accidentally killing his friend, joining a communist party, and being involved in a deadly bombing. Some officers, including Kumaresan, begin to sympathize with him. After a fight, Vaathiyaar surrenders but is killed by the police leader. Kumaresan crashes the truck carrying Vaathiyaar¡¯s body and walks into the jungle, leaving a letter to his mother, saying he might never return.

Directed and co-produced by Vetrimaaran, this crime thriller is cinematographed by R. Velraj, composed by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja, with R. Ramar handling the editing. Based on Thunaivan by B. Where Viduthalai: Part 2 feels underwhelming is in not being a truly compelling film. There's a nagging feeling that the filmmaker in Vetri Maaran has let the idealogue in him call the shots. The climax doesn't really deliver the gut punch it should have.¡±
