The crime thriller has earned over Rs 55 crores at the box office and is finally streaming on OTT after a month. With an extended version taking the full length to 3 hours and 44 minutes, Viduthalai Part 2 is streaming on Prime Video.

1. Viduthalai Part 2¡¯s plot summary
Arrested Vaathiyaar shares his story with the police about his past, including accidentally killing his friend, joining a communist party, and being involved in a deadly bombing. Some officers, including Kumaresan, begin to sympathize with him. After a fight, Vaathiyaar surrenders but is killed by the police leader. Kumaresan crashes the truck carrying Vaathiyaar¡¯s body and walks into the jungle, leaving a letter to his mother, saying he might never return.

Directed and co-produced by Vetrimaaran, this crime thriller is cinematographed by R. Velraj, composed by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja, with R. Ramar handling the editing. Based on Thunaivan by B. The Times of India rated the movie 3.0 out of 5 and a part of their review read, ¡°Though this story feels familiar, given his solid craft, Vetri Maaran manages to narrate it in a largely engaging manner. Where Viduthalai: Part 2 feels underwhelming is in not being a truly compelling film. There's a nagging feeling that the filmmaker in Vetri Maaran has let the idealogue in him call the shots. The climax doesn't really deliver the gut punch it should have.¡±
