16 Not-So-Obvious But 'Real' Lead Stars Of Cult Movies Will Make You Nod Your Head In Agreement

On most days, the internet provides a lot of entertainment. If you overlook the toxicity, people exude immense creativity in the most effortless way. Recently, a trend started doing the rounds where netizens indulged in funny banter amongst themselves discussing iconic movies and their 'real' lead actors. Instead of the obvious leading men and women, they got down to stating the actual leads which weren't necessarily humans.

We thought of compiling all of them and adding some of our own. It goes without saying that in no way does it undermine our supremely talented artists. Without further ado, scroll!

The debut film of Ayushmann Khurrana ruffled a lot of feathers. While it takes immense guts to make a movie on such a taboo topic, the obvious main lead of the film has to be his 'swimmers'. *giggle*

2. Dear Zindagi - Chair

A phenomenal movie addressing mental health and its importance, if you think practically, it wasn't Alia Bhatt or SRK who ran the movie, it was the shrink's chair!

3. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Spain

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This Zoya Akhtar's directorial changed the face of filmmaking. While Hrithik, Abhay, Farhan, Kalki, Katrina and others did a phenomenal job of teaching us life lessons, the real MVP has to be Spain. This movie boosted the country's tourism like no other!

4. Aashiqui 2 - Whisky

It was a tough fight between Whisky and Arijit Singh but the former won, hands down. Aditya Roy Kapoor was rendered intoxicated throughout the film. Whether it was good acting or reality, that remains unknown but he certainly got stereotyped into playing similar roles in his following films.

5. Piku - Poop

It wasn't Amitabh Bachchan's tantrums, Deepika Padukone's fierceness or even Irrfan Khan's calmness, Piku's main lead actor was poop. Quite self-explanatory!

6. Kabir Singh - Cigarettes

Problematic as it may have been, this Shahid Kapoor movie's main lead was cigarettes. Kapoor himself admitted that he reeked of smoke when would go back home after shooting the film. Alcohol of course was a close second.

7. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - Moustache

Years after its release, I still keep wondering how this movie's foundation was weak beyond words. It's hard to believe that a woman couldn't recognise her husband without a muchchi! Quite a lead actor, won't you say?

8. Vivaah - Water

Didn't we all ship Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor's chemistry in this sweet movie? It made the concept of arranged marriage look pleasant and seamless. Years later, people found humour in the fact that the movie's main lead was jal aka water. So much so that even Amrita Rao humorously recreated the iconic scene.

9. Sooryavansham - Kheer

This movie is all about khoon wali kheer and senior Bachchan's double roles. Agreed that the kheer only made an appearance in the climax but if you think in retrospect, it definitely was the MVP.

10. Dhamaal - W

Kanaphusi

The entire cast was running around looking for W in the comic caper because the treasure was buried under it. The climax especially was a laughter riot as everyone was going bonkers. If it wasn't for the letter W, the movie wouldn't have been as fun as it was.

11. Rohit Shetty Movies - Cars

Well, this is something that even he agrees with. 99.9% of Rohit Shetty's movies have flying car sequences. Actors will come and go but cars are his constant.

12. Jab We Met - Train

Geet's fixation with never missing the train is the central plot of the movie. Everything else is a subset. The lead of this movie wasn't Kareena or Shahid but trains.

13. Jab Harry Met Sejal - Ring

One of the most questionable works of Imtiaz Ali imo, this movie has its own share of flaws. If you overlook the loud and over-dramatic acting of the hero and the heroine, the movie should have been Jab Sejal found her ring. The entire premise of this mediocre movie revolved around her lost ring.

14. Munnabhai MBBS - Cellphone

The movie that revived Sanjay Dutt's career - Munnabhai is an evergreen classic. Let's just say had it not been for a cellphone or Dr Rustam Tyagi, the MBBS bit of the movie would not have been made.

15. Hera Pheri - Landline & Phir Hera Pheri - Kukdu Koo

These two movies rank high in Bollywood's best comedy films of all time. The trio - Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar are unmatchable when it comes to comic timing. However, in both the movies the main leads were a landline phone and Kukdu Koo respectively. Had it not been for 'Kabira Speaking' and Star Fisheries/Garage cross connection, the first one would not have been what it was. As for the sequel, the diamonds were hidden under Kukdu Koo and to solve the riddle it took an entire film.

16. PK - Remote

Aamir Khan's quest to go back to his own plant depended on his remotevaa. He even learned Bhojpuri to retrieve his stolen remote. Not only this, he prayed to almost every god possible for a miracle. In its wake, he busted Swami ji's ulterior motives.
