Ajay Devgn Slams People Who Trolled His Daughter For Going To A Salon After Grandfather¡¯s Death
From the way they post pictures on the internet to which cafe they visit, everything is tracked minute by minute by the photographers and media. For 'likes' and 'virality', everyone wants to instantly update fans about the whereabouts of stars and star kids and sometimes, this is exactly where the problem starts. In a first, Daddy Ajay Devgn addressed how his daughter Nysa (14) was trolled after his father¡¯s death earlier this year.
We talk about star kids and their privileges but what about all the scrutiny that comes their way? From the way they post pictures on the internet to which cafe they visit, everything is tracked minute by minute by the photographers and media.
For 'likes' and 'virality', everyone wants to instantly update fans about the whereabouts of stars and star kids and sometimes, this is exactly where the problem starts. In a first, Daddy Ajay Devgn addressed how his daughter Nysa (14) was trolled after his father¡¯s death earlier this year.
Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan were promoting their upcoming film Tanhaji on Zoom TV when he, for the first time ever spoke about the controversy. Ajay said that it was he who had sent Nysa to the salon to take her mind off things.
Just to jog your memory a little, right after action director Veeru Devgn's death in May, several Bollywood celebrities were spotted at Ajay¡¯s home to pay their final respects. However, this snowballed into a big controversy when paps clicked Ajay's daughter Nysa stepping out of a local salon.
The pictures went viral within a few minutes and everyone started questioning Nysa's choice of visiting a parlour right after such a tragedy.
Neither Kajol nor Ajay ever spoke about the incident but Ajay addressed how star kids are bullied at the drop of a hat. Ajay gave an extensive answer to why it was unfair of people to judge Nysa of her choices. He said,
¡°They (trolls) really don¡¯t know what¡¯s going on. I¡¯ll give you an example, I never spoke about this. When I lost my father, second day, the kids were very upset. Nysa was crying all day and people were home, there were a lot of people. You know how the atmosphere is. I called her, I said stop being upset. Because you have to, they are kids. ¡®Why don¡¯t you go out, have something and come, eat something and come or things like this. She said I don¡¯t want to go. I told her you please go, there will be a change of mood. They are here, we are handling people, we are doing it. You just go out. She didn¡¯t know where to go, she left and she went to a parlour. I said go get a hair wash or something. They have clicked pictures of her entering a parlour and they have trolled her.
¡®Grandfather just died and she¡¯s in the parlour¡¯. What right do they have? I am sending her so that she feels better, she¡¯s going through a trauma. What right do they have to say that? It¡¯s ridiculous. And then she¡¯s come back howling. By the time she got back home, the pictures were out already.¡±
Ajay also added that kids don't deserve to face such extent of bullying and trolling just because they belong to a family that is known or popular. He also added,
¡°People are clicked everywhere, there are some rubbish comments that come. It harms children. What have they done wrong? 9, 10, 15-year-old kids and you¡¯ve started judging them."
As protective parents, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan too raised some valid questions around trolling and the pap-culture that disturbs the normal lives of their kids. Who knows where to draw the line after all!
