Akshay Kumar movie Raksha Bandhan and Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha are set to hit theatres on the same day, which is on August 11, 2022.
While Raksha Bandhan is an upcoming comedy-drama directed by Aanand L. Rai, Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi remake of the 1994 blockbuster movie Hollywood film titled Forrest Gump.
The trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan was unveiled yesterday, June 21, 2022 and during the event, the Samrat Prithviraj actor addressing the media spoke about his upcoming film's clash with the Aamir Khan-starrer.
When questioned about his film Raksha Bandhan clashing with the upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, the 54-year-old actor said, "It's not a clash. It's about good movies coming together. And, it's a big day. Due to Covid-19, many films did not release and some are still waiting to get a release date. So, it's natural more films will release together. I hope both films have good run."
Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle to share the trailer of Raksha Bandhan and said, "Jahan parivaar ka pyaar hota hai, wahan har rukaavat ka samadhaan bhi hota hai! #RakshaBandhanTrailer is out, watch now (sic)."

Meanwhile, director Chandraprakash Dwivedi have opened up on the latest controversy revolving around Akshay Kumar-Manushi Chillar starrer Samrat Prithviraj. The director of Samrat Prithviraj has said that he doesn't agree with Akshay Kumar take on the king being underrepresented in history textbooks. However, he feels that boycotting the film based on the actor is unfair.
