Aamir Khan Announces Sitaare Zameen Par, All You Need To Know About Taare Zameen Par¡¯s Sequel

Aamir Khan¡¯s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par initiated an open conversation around dyslexia and mental/physical disorders. The movie sensitised the audiences about people who suffer such problems and how they can be helped to shine bright. The movie was commercially successful.

A sequel titled Sitaare Zameen Par is in the making.

Aamir Khan has announced that a story similar to the lines of Taare¡­ is currently being created. Titled ¡®Sitaare Zameen Par¡¯, the movie again seeks to address some serious issues among growing teens. In an interview with News18, Aamir revealed, ¡°I have not spoken about it publicly and I won't be able to say much now also.¡±

What will be the movie all about?

He shared, ¡°You must have remembered my film Taare Zameen Par and the name of this film is Sitare Zameen Par because we are moving 10 steps ahead with the same theme. Taare Zameen Par was an emotional film, this film will make you laugh. That film made you cry, this one will entertain you."

Aamir said that the theme is the same and that's why he named it thoughtfully.

The Lagaan actor continued, ¡°We all have flaws, we all have weaknesses, but we all also have something special, so we are taking forward this theme but this time the character of the special child Ishaan in that film, my character helps that character in Taare Zameen Par, in Sitaare Zameen Par, those 9 boys, who have their own issues they help me. It's the opposite.¡±

What more is Aamir up to next?

PTI revealed that Aamir is also producing Sitaare this time. He also has three more films as a producer in his kitty. One is Laapata Ladies (directed by Kiran Rao), one featuring his son Junaid Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi¡¯s Lahore 1947 alongside Sunny Deol. Talking about the same, the actor said he is "looking forward to them".

What was Taare Zameen Par all about?

Produced and directed by Aamir, the movie featured Khan alongside Darsheel Safary, Tanay Chheda, Vipin Sharma and Tisca Chopra. The movie revolved around an eight-year-old gifted boy Ishaan. Aamir plays his art teacher who discovers Ishaan is dyslexic and helps him explore his true potential.

Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha which unfortunately tanked at the box office. Directed by Advait Chandan, the movie was an official remake of Forrest Gump also starring Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh.
