A Film On Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Is In The Works. Here Are The Deets

A film on Atal Bihari Vajpayee, ex-Prime Minister of India, has been announced today, June 28. The news has been confirmed by film trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his official Twitter handle.

The film will be based on the book, The Untold Vajpayee: Politician And Paradox by Ullekh NP. The much-anticipated movie has been titled - Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye - Atal.

It will be a joint production venture by Vinod Bhanushali and Sandeep Singh along with a few others. Sharing the details about the upcoming Bollywood film on an ex- prime minister of India, Taran Adarsh informed that the film will go on floors from early 2023.

According to the latest updates, the upcoming biopic film is slated to release on Christmas 2023, which will also mark the Atal Bihari Vajpayee's 99th birth anniversary.

Cast of Atal Yet To Be Announced

While it has been learned that Vinod Bhanushali and Sandeep Singh have joined hands for the new project, the star cast is yet to be announced by the makers.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was a politician and diplomat who served as India's Prime Minister three times. In 1996, Vajpayee sat on the PM chair for 13 days as he had to resign after BJP's failure to get majority due to lack of enough support from other parties.

However, Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the second time came back as the PM of India in 1998 for a period of 13 months and then in 1999 for the third time and full term. Atal Bihari Vajpayee died at the age of 93 on August 16, 2018.
